Day 1

Arrive in Delhi – A Comfortable Start to Your Journey

Arrive at Delhi’s international airport, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel by private vehicle. After a long international flight, the day is kept deliberately light, allowing you to settle in, freshen up and recover at your own pace.

Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to enjoy a relaxed dinner at the hotel or venture out for your first introduction to Indian cuisine.

There is no sightseeing commitment today. The aim is to begin your Rajasthan journey feeling rested rather than rushed.

Day 2

Delhi to Jaipur – Enter the Pink City

Overnight: Jaipur | 1st of 2 nights

After breakfast, drive to Jaipur, Rajasthan’s capital and one of India’s most distinctive historic cities. On arrival, check in to your hotel and take some time to settle in.

Later in the afternoon, head out to see the celebrated Hawa Mahal from the outside and explore a section of Jaipur’s old city. Its pink façades, traditional shopfronts and lively bazaars offer a first glimpse of a city where royal traditions remain part of everyday life.

If time permits, browse the local markets for block-printed textiles, jewellery or traditional crafts. Your visit can be as relaxed or as focused as you prefer, with the option to return to the hotel before dinner.

The evening is free to enjoy your hotel, arrange a special dinner or simply unwind after the drive.

Day 3

Jaipur – Amber Fort and the Royal City Palace

Overnight: Jaipur | 2nd night

Today is devoted to Jaipur’s royal heritage, with time to appreciate the architecture rather than simply move from one attraction to another.

Begin with Amber Fort, set on the hills outside the city. Explore its courtyards, audience halls and richly decorated interiors, including the celebrated Sheesh Mahal. The fort’s combination of defensive architecture and elaborate palace spaces offers a revealing look at the world of the Kachwaha rulers.

Return to the city for a visit to the City Palace, where royal courtyards, museum collections, ceremonial objects and traditional craftsmanship tell the story of Jaipur’s former rulers.

Continue to Jantar Mantar, the historic astronomical observatory, if time and interest allow. It provides an unexpected contrast to the decorative splendour of the palaces, reflecting the scientific interests of the royal court.

The remainder of the afternoon is left flexible. You might return to your hotel for some downtime, explore the old city with your guide or arrange a private introduction to Rajasthani cuisine.

A second night in Jaipur means you can enjoy the city without packing and changing hotels every day.

Day 4

Jaipur to Jodhpur – Across Rajasthan to the Blue City

Overnight: Jodhpur | 1st of 2 nights

After breakfast, depart for Jodhpur in your private vehicle. The drive takes approximately six hours, depending on traffic, road conditions and stops, so the day is planned primarily around the journey.

Break the drive for refreshments and lunch along the way. On arrival in Jodhpur, check in to your hotel and enjoy some time to relax.

If daylight and energy permit, take a short walk through the nearby old-city lanes or visit a viewpoint overlooking the blue-painted houses beneath Mehrangarh Fort. Otherwise, keep the evening free.

Jodhpur has a character quite different from Jaipur: its narrow streets, indigo-coloured homes and imposing fort create a sense of place that is immediately recognisable.

Dinner and the evening are at leisure.

Day 5

Jodhpur – Mehrangarh Fort and Royal Marwar

Overnight: Jodhpur | 2nd night

After breakfast, visit Mehrangarh Fort, one of Rajasthan’s most impressive hilltop fortresses. Rising above the city, its massive walls enclose palaces, courtyards and museum galleries filled with objects associated with the rulers of Marwar. Allow sufficient time to appreciate the collections and the sweeping views over Jodhpur’s blue old town.

Continue to Jaswant Thada, a finely carved marble memorial set in peaceful surroundings. Its delicate stonework offers a quieter contrast to the scale of Mehrangarh.

Later, visit Umaid Bhawan Palace, subject to access to its public museum and visitor areas. The palace combines imposing scale with an architectural style that reflects a later chapter in Jodhpur’s royal history.

In the afternoon, explore the old city around the Clock Tower and Sardar Market. This is an opportunity to see the everyday side of Jodhpur, from spice stalls and traditional textiles to local street life.

Return to your hotel for a relaxed evening. Guests interested in local communities and rural traditions may also enquire about a privately arranged village visit, subject to the available time and arrangements.

Day 6

Jodhpur to Udaipur – A Scenic Journey into the Aravallis

Overnight: Udaipur | 1st of 2 nights

After breakfast, depart for Udaipur, travelling through the changing landscapes of southern Rajasthan. The direct drive generally takes around five to six hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.

To keep the day comfortable, the itinerary does not combine the transfer with an extensive sightseeing programme. En-route visits can be discussed in advance if you prefer to include a cultural stop and are comfortable with a later arrival.

On reaching Udaipur, check in to your hotel and take some time to enjoy its surroundings. Depending on your choice of accommodation, the remainder of the afternoon might be spent overlooking the lake, relaxing in the gardens or enjoying the hotel's facilities.

In the evening, consider dinner overlooking Lake Pichola or a quiet meal at your hotel.

After the bustle of Jaipur and the imposing fortifications of Jodhpur, Udaipur offers a gentler pace, with lakes, palace façades and the Aravalli hills shaping the city’s atmosphere.

Day 7

Udaipur – City Palace and Lake Pichola

Overnight: Udaipur | 2nd night

Begin the day with a visit to Udaipur City Palace, a sprawling complex of courtyards, balconies, terraces and historic rooms overlooking Lake Pichola. Its architecture reflects the development of the Mewar royal house over several generations.

Explore the palace museum with your guide, paying attention to its decorative details, royal collections and views across the lake.

Continue to Jagdish Temple, known for its carved stonework, before visiting Saheliyon Ki Bari, a historic garden associated with the royal household and noted for its fountains and landscaped spaces.

Return to your hotel for a break during the warmer part of the day.

Later, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola, included in the tour. From the water, Udaipur’s palaces, ghats and surrounding hills can be appreciated from a different perspective. The exact experience and departure time will depend on operating conditions and the service available on your travel date.

Spend your final evening in Rajasthan at leisure. You may wish to arrange a special lakeside dinner or enjoy a relaxed meal at your hotel.

Day 8

Depart from Udaipur

Tour concludes | No overnight stay included

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before your private transfer to Udaipur Airport for your onward flight.

If you have a later departure, there may be time for a relaxed morning at the hotel, subject to check-out arrangements and your flight schedule.

Your journey concludes with three distinct impressions of Rajasthan: Jaipur’s courtly grandeur, Jodhpur’s formidable fortress and blue old city, and Udaipur’s palaces beside the water.
