Arrive in Delhi – A Relaxed Introduction to India

Arrive at Delhi's international airport, where your driver will meet you for a private transfer to your hotel. After check-in, the rest of the day is left open to recover from your journey and settle into your surroundings.

If you arrive early and feel ready to explore, a short orientation drive through selected parts of New Delhi can be arranged, depending on arrival time and traffic. Otherwise, enjoy a quiet evening and dinner at your hotel.

The sightseeing begins the following day, once you have had time to rest.

Delhi to Agra – The Journey to the Taj Mahal

Overnight: Agra | 1 night

After breakfast, travel by private air-conditioned vehicle to Agra, a city closely associated with the Mughal emperors and some of India's finest examples of historic architecture.

On arrival, check in to your hotel and take a break before exploring Agra Fort. Its monumental gateways, courtyards and palace buildings offer an introduction to the power and sophistication of the Mughal court. From selected areas, you can also appreciate views towards the Taj Mahal.

Later, visit Mehtab Bagh, a garden on the opposite bank of the Yamuna River, if time and conditions permit. It offers a different perspective on the Taj Mahal and is particularly appealing towards the end of the day.

Return to your hotel for the evening. An early night is recommended if you wish to visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise the next morning.

Sunrise at the Taj Mahal – Drive to Jaipur

Begin early with a visit to the Taj Mahal, when the changing light brings out the subtle tones of its white marble. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of Mumtaz Mahal, the monument is known not only for its beauty but also for the extraordinary craftsmanship of its inlaid stonework and architectural proportions.

Allow time to explore the grounds and appreciate the monument at a comfortable pace. The visit is subject to opening arrangements, weather and the applicable entry schedule.

Jaipur – Amber Fort and the Royal City Palace

After breakfast, head to Amber Fort, set on the hills outside Jaipur. Explore its courtyards, audience halls and richly decorated interiors, including the celebrated Sheesh Mahal. The fort reveals how the Rajput rulers combined defensive architecture with elaborate royal living spaces.

Return to the city to visit Jaipur's City Palace, where courtyards, museum collections and ceremonial objects offer insight into the history of the royal household. Continue to Jantar Mantar, the historic astronomical observatory, if time and interest allow.

Later, see Hawa Mahal from the outside and explore part of the old city. Jaipur's bazaars are known for block-printed textiles, jewellery, gemstones and traditional crafts. Your guide can help you understand the local craftsmanship and identify suitable places to browse.

The late afternoon remains flexible. You may return to your hotel for a rest or continue exploring with your guide.

Jaipur to Jodhpur – Across Rajasthan

Overnight: Jodhpur | 1st of 2 nights

After breakfast, leave Jaipur for Jodhpur, travelling through the landscapes of Rajasthan. The drive generally takes around six hours, depending on traffic, stops and road conditions.

The day is intentionally kept light on sightseeing. Stop for refreshments and lunch along the way before continuing to Jodhpur.

After checking in, enjoy some time at your hotel. If daylight and energy permit, take a short outing into the old city, where blue-painted houses cluster beneath the imposing walls of Mehrangarh Fort.

Jodhpur offers a different atmosphere from Jaipur. Its narrower lanes, historic merchant houses and lively markets reflect a city shaped by trade, craftsmanship and the legacy of the Marwar rulers.

Spend the evening at leisure.

Jodhpur – Mehrangarh Fort and Royal Marwar

Begin the day at Mehrangarh Fort, one of Rajasthan's most impressive historic fortresses. Rising above the city, its courtyards, palaces and museum galleries contain objects associated with the rulers of Marwar. Continue to Jaswant Thada, a finely carved marble memorial set in peaceful surroundings. Its delicate stonework provides a quieter contrast to the scale of Mehrangarh.

If you prefer to include a cultural stop along the way, Ranakpur's celebrated Jain temple complex may be considered, subject to opening arrangements, the available time and your preferred arrival time in Udaipur. Adding this visit will extend the journey, so it should be agreed upon when the tour is planned.

On arrival, check in to your hotel and take time to unwind. Depending on your accommodation, you may be able to enjoy views of Lake Pichola, relax in the gardens or make use of the hotel's facilities.

The evening is free for a quiet dinner or a stroll through a nearby lakeside area. Udaipur's setting among lakes and hills provides a gentler pace after the long drives and imposing fortresses of Rajasthan's other cities.

Udaipur – Palace Heritage and Lake Pichola

After breakfast, visit Udaipur City Palace, an extensive complex of courtyards, balconies, terraces and historic rooms overlooking Lake Pichola. Its architecture and collections reflect the history of the Mewar rulers across several generations.

Continue to Jagdish Temple, known for its carved stonework, followed by Saheliyon Ki Bari, a historic garden associated with the royal household.

Return to your hotel for a break during the warmer part of the day.

After breakfast, transfer to Udaipur Airport for your flight to Varanasi. Depending on the flight schedule, this journey may require a connection through Delhi or another hub. Flights and transfer timings should be confirmed before the itinerary is finalised.

On arrival in Varanasi, meet your local representative and transfer to your hotel.

Keep the afternoon relaxed, particularly if the journey involves a connecting flight. Later, head towards the riverfront to experience the atmosphere of the ghats and witness the evening Ganga Aarti, subject to the day's arrangements.
